A very magical morning before sunrise. The twilight sky was glowing with hues of magenta, fuchsia, pink, rose, purple, violet, amber, red, yellow, and orange. It was aglow.

Today’s “magical pieces” is extracted from a book about one of my heroines, Pippi Longstocking. I loved watching the TV series (have it already on DVD) and later I was given the book (in German). This is one of my favourite episodes because I have freckles too and I ask the same in the end. Here it goes then:
In the shop window was a large box of freckles ointment. Beside the box was a paper, which said: “Suffering with freckles?”
“What stands on the sign?” Pippi asked. She could not read particularly well, because she didn’t want to go to the school like other children.
“It says: do you suffer with freckles? “Annika said.
“Yes, actually” Pippi said thoughtfully. “Well, a polite question requires a polite answer. Come, we want to go in.“
She opened the door opened and went in. Closely behind her came Thomas and Annika. Behind the counter, stood an older lady. Pippi went directly to her.
“No” she said promptly.
“What would you like?” asked the lady.
“No” said Pippi again.
“I don’t understand, what you mean.” the lady said.
“No, I don’t suffer with freckles” said Pippi.
Now the lady understood. She looked closely to Pippi and went to the front of the counter:
"But, my dear child, your face is full of freckles!"
“Certainly” said Pippi “however I don’t suffer with them. I like them. Good morning!“
She went out. At the door, she turned and said:
"But if you possibly get something that makes one get more freckles, then you can send me seven or eight boxes.”

O “magical pieces” de hoje é tirado de um livro sobre uma das minhas heroínas, Pippi das Meias Altas. Eu adorava ver a série na TV (já a tenho em DVD) e mais tarde deram-me o livro (em alemão). Este é um dos meus episódios favoritos porque também tenho sardas e peço o mesmo no final. Então aqui vai:
Na montra havia uma caixa grande de creme para sardas. Junto da caixa estava um letreiro que dizia: “Sofre com as sardas?”
“O que está no letreiro?” perguntou a Pippi. Ela não sabia ler muito bem porque não queria ir para a escola como as outras crianças.
“Lá diz: sofre com as sardas? “ disse a Annika.
“Bem, sim” disse a Pippi pensativa. “Bom, uma pergunta bem educada merece uma resposta bem educada. Venham, vamos entrar.“
Ela abriu a porta e entrou. Colados à Pippi vinham o Thomas e a Annika. Atrás do balcão, estava uma senhora de certa idade. Pippi dirigiu-se directamente a ela.
“Não” disse ela prontamente.
“O que desejas?” perguntou a senhora.
“Não” disse Pippi outra vez.
“Eu não percebo o que queres.” Disse a senhora.
“Não, eu não sofro com as sardas” disse a Pippi.
Agora a senhora percebeu. Ela observou Pippi atentamente e saiu para a frente do balcão:
"Mas, minha querida menina, a tua cara está cheia de sardas!”
“Certo” disse a Pippi “no entanto eu não sofro com elas. Eu gosto delas. Bom dia!“
Ela saiu. À porta, virou-se e disse:
"Mas se um dia possivelmente receber algo que faça mais sardas, então pode enviar-me sete ou oito caixas.”
